Unturned server commands run from the server console, or from in-game chat with a / or @ prefix once you are an admin. The detail most lists get wrong is the separator: parameters are split by a forward slash, not a space — /give PlayerName/ItemID/Amount. The syntax below follows the Unturned wiki and Smartly Dressed Games' server documentation.
Quick answer
Unturned commands run from the server console, or in chat with a / or @ prefix once you are an admin. Parameters are separated by a forward slash, not a space — /give Player/ItemID/Amount. Make yourself owner with Owner <SteamID64> in Commands.dat, or add admins with admin in the console.
Add Owner <SteamID64> as a line in the server's Commands.dat to make yourself the owner, or run admin <SteamID or player> in the server console to add an admin. Admins type commands in chat with a / or @ prefix; the console needs no prefix. Spawning commands such as give and vehicle also need Cheats enabled.
Commands.dat: the startup settings
Some commands are settings: they go in Commands.dat, one per line, and take effect when the server boots. The rest only work while the server is running. The ones that matter for admin:
| Line | What it does |
|---|---|
Owner <SteamID64> | Set the owner of the server, who has administrator privileges. |
Cheats | Allow cheat commands (give, vehicle, experience, animal) for admins. |
Whitelisted | Only players on the permit list can join. |
Admins & access
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
admin <SteamID or player> | Add a player to the admin list. |
unadmin <SteamID or player> | Remove a player from the admin list. |
permit <SteamID>/<tag> | Add a player to the list allowed to join a whitelisted server. |
unpermit <SteamID> | Remove a player from that list. |
help [command] | List every command, or describe one — the fastest way to check syntax on your version. |
Players & moderation
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
players | List the players on the server (in the console). |
kick <player>/<reason> | Disconnect a player. |
ban <player>/<reason>/<duration> | Ban a player. |
unban <SteamID> | Lift a ban. |
bans | List the server's bans in the console. |
kill <player> | Kill a player in-game. |
slay <player>/<reason> | Kill a player and permanently ban them. |
spy <player> | Request a screenshot from a player. |
Items, vehicles & teleport
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
give <player>/<item ID or name>/<amount> | Give a player an item (needs Cheats). |
vehicle <player>/<vehicle ID or GUID> | Spawn a vehicle in front of a player (needs Cheats). |
experience <player>/<amount> | Give a player experience (needs Cheats). |
reputation <player>/<amount> | Give a player reputation (needs Cheats). |
animal <player>/<animal ID> | Spawn an animal in front of a player (needs Cheats). |
teleport <player>/<player or location> | Teleport a player to another player or a named location. |
World & server
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
day / night | Set the time to day / night. |
time <seconds> | Set the point in the day-night cycle, in seconds. |
weather <none|disable|storm|blizzard|GUID> | Change the weather. |
airdrop | Force an airdrop right now. |
save | Save the server state. |
shutdown <delay>/<explanation> | Save, disconnect everyone and close the server. |
/god, /vanish, /heal, /tp, /i and /v are core RocketMod commands. They do nothing on a plain server, and they take spaces rather than slashes (/i <item> <amount>). If you run RocketMod you get those on top of the vanilla commands above.
